Andrea & Ryan- Engagement Photography in Lexington, KY

This amazing engagement session takes place at Jacobson Park. This is where Ryan proposed. Family and friends all stood by while he asked Andrea to be his wife. It was truly a special event from all the details they have told me. We went back to where he popped the question, of course! I’ll let you guess exactly where. I had so much fun at this session. It felt as though I were talking with old friends throughout our time together. Congratulations, Andrea & Ryan! I hope you like your sneak peek!

Emily & Joe- Wedding Photography in Lexington, KY

I have to say this was one of the most creative weddings I have photographed. Emily and Joe love books, and it shines in their details. They wed in Gratz Park in downtown Lexington on a beautiful summer day. Their reception took place in the Carnegie Center, which was Lexington’s public library until the 1980’s. How perfect of a venue for book lovers! My favorite part of the day was their first look. You can truly see the love in their eyes. I hope you love this fun and energetic couple’s wedding as much as I did!

Kirsten & Cameron- Engagement Session in Lexington, KY

Kirsten and I met at The Big Fake Wedding back in July. I am so happy she filled out her information at the event, because we started communicating soon after. Her fiancé, Cameron, would be home on leave for a short time and we scheduled their engagement session accordingly. If you read my last post, you will know that I have been sick for the past week. I emailed Kirsten and apologized in advance for my cough. Despite the cough, we captured some wonderful photos that I love. I hope you love them, too!

I am always honored to photograph military families. The dress that Kirsten wore for the next few photos is actually her mother’s. She found it not long before the photo session. It has belonged to her mother since she was newly married. I thought it was a cute dress before, but then I fell in love with it. Everything has more meaning when you tell its story.

Congratulations, Kirsten & Cameron! I had an amazing time (cough and all!) photographing your engagement. Thank you for letting me part of your journey! Tell me your favorite photos in the comments below! Thanks for reading!

Emily- Bridal Photography in Lexington, KY

I met Emily at Rachel’s wedding. She had actually found me online while searching for a photographer. She didn’t realize who I was at the wedding, but kept thinking, “Why does she look familiar?” The next day I posted Rachel and Christian’s sneak peek and she realized! I am so happy she chose me to photograph her wedding. Here is her Bridal Session sneak peek!

Candice & Lucas- Wedding Photography in Lexington, KY

Candice and Lucas love to laugh… and dance! They were so much fun to be around. I loved photographing the ladies prior to their first look. Candice was amazingly calm and joyful. The Mansion at Griffon Gate was perfection for their blue and violet toned reception. Here are a few of my faves!

Kayla & Shane- Wedding Photography in Lexington, KY

Kayla has an air of grace about her. She can light up a room with her smile. Even though I’ve known her for a short while, I can tell Kayla loves people with her whole heart. I noticed throughout the night that Shane would just smile when he looked at her. He knows he found the love of his life. Their special connection was very easy to capture…

Lynn & Doug- Wedding Photography in Lexington, KY

The moment I walked into the hotel room, I sensed excitement. The bride was hidden in the back of the suite, and room was filled with joy. Lynn’s dress was a stunning beaded gown. When I first saw her in it, my first thought was how breathtaking she looked. I couldn’t wait until the first look, because Doug was sure to be blown away! The Carrick House was the perfect backdrop for this beautiful wedding.

Myah Winbush- Model Photography in Lexington, KY

As many of you know, I am building a portraiture business. My new business will be centered around women and their beauty and strength. This new venture brings me great excitement. Today I get to highlight the beautiful Myah Winbush, a model in Lexington, KY. She is such a sweet girl, and it was a delight to work with her.

This whole session was done in one hour in Jacobson Park.

The first look was Myah’s own dress. I added a couple of pieces of jewelry and decided to start the shoot in the rows of pine trees.

So confident and her skin looks amazing! We kept saying to each other how much she was glowing. Gorgeous! The next outfit had a more summery feel. We went to the open fields in the center of the park. The sun was lower and a little softer, which was perfect for the look I was going for.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the photo with the open sky.  The great thing about photography is the variety you can add just by changing your angle. Our next outfit was from T.J. Maxx. (I may have a T.J. Maxx problem. I was once there three days in a row.) The light by this time was GORGEOUS! I love shooting right when the sun falls behind the horizon. The entire mood changes and you can get images like these-

Myah was bringing some beautiful dance poses while we were by the lake. Soft and feminine looks are my favorite. She definitely showed great talent during this session. I would love to work with her again. Give some love for Myah in the comments, and tell us which is your favorite look!
